This self-paced course prepares you for the four core Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE) exams: 70-067: Implementing and Supporting Windows NT Server 4.0; 70-068: Implementing and Supporting Windows NT Server 4.0 in the Enterprise; 70-073: Implementing and Supporting Windows NT Workstation 4.0; exam 70-098: Implementing and Supporting Windows 98. The Cyber Classroom includes an 800-page book along with a browser-based application that combines text, audio, video, animations, and hyperlinks to present information in an effective, compelling format. In addition, it provides extensive assessment options to measure your progress. Contents include:
Planning
In this module, you plan to deploy Windows NT Server 4.0, Windows NT Workstation 4.0, and Windows 98 computers in a networked environment. You learn to configure disk drive partitions, choose file systems, and select a network model. You also prepare to use Microsoft directory services and to select the most appropriate network protocols.
Installing
In this module, you learn to install operating systems and components. This includes configuring hardware, such as print devices, communications devices, network components, and protocols. You also learn to configure disk drives for high performance and fault tolerance.
Managing
This module teaches you to manage user and group accounts and access to network resources. You learn to create profiles to define user environments and manage storage resources through access permissions. You also learn to manage directory services by creating trust relationships, manage disk resources, and manage Windows NT Server remotely.
Networking
In this module, you learn to configure Windows computers for network access. This includes configuring NetBEUI and Novell NetWare, Remote Access Service, and Dial-Up Networking. You also learn about multi-protocol routing.
Optimizing
In this module, you learn to analyze system and network performance using built-in monitoring tools. You also learn to create baselines, identify and resolve bottlenecks, and optimize the system's overall performance.
Troubleshooting
Finally, you learn to troubleshoot problems in boot up, hardware installation, system configuration, and resource access. This module teaches you to troubleshoot connectivity errors and print failures, as well as recognize data recovery scenarios made possible by backup and RAID technologies.
