As the Web's popularity has grown, many Webmasters have been frustrated in their desire to extend its capabilities from a simple presentation system of static text documents to an interactive purveyor of mass media. Compared to what could be produced with any desktop publishing or multimedia authoring application, the presentation qualities of the Web seemed like a major leap backward. The desire to combine the Web's portability and accessibility with better visual design and functionality has culminated in a group of improved standards and techniques as revolutionary as the introduction of the Web itself. Collectively, these standards and techniques are called Dynamic HTML (DHTML).
This book gives you the knowledge to build DHTML-enabled Web sites from scratch.
